01 / How it works

Four legs lift the whole rig — you feel the track with your body

The MOZA HMA150 is MOZA's first flagship motion system. The set contains four linear actuators and the parts needed to build a four-post platform that moves a cockpit in three degrees of freedom — pitch, roll and heave. This is not a shaker bolted to the seat; it is physical movement of the whole rig together with the wheel, pedals and seat. Each actuator pairs a servo motor with a ball screw: up to 150 mm of stroke, up to 300 mm/s of speed and 180 kgf of peak thrust. A 21-bit magnetic encoder reads position — 2,097,152 points — and a 600 MHz processor handles the data, so response lands in the millisecond range. Vibration works separately across 0–200 Hz, carrying road seams, surface texture and engine behaviour. At a 250 kg payload the system reaches more than 1 G and 300 mm/s; at the full 350 kg it is 0.45 G and 150 mm/s. Power is low voltage: 48 V DC drawn from a 110–220 V mains, with 1,500 W rated consumption for the four-actuator system. An emergency stop is included — it halts the platform instantly and holds it, and a slow-descent protection engages if power is suddenly lost. The platform bolts onto rigs built from 4080, 40120 and 40160 European-standard aluminium profile; 40120 and 40160 rigs with a closed central rail need the separate HMA Profile Adapter Kit. Setup runs through MOZA Motion Manager, and AI Motion covers supported games without native telemetry.

  1. 01

The whole cockpit moves, not the seat

Four actuators become the legs of the rig and lift the whole thing — wheel, pedals, seat and the monitor too if it is fixed to the cockpit. The platform works in three degrees of freedom: ±7.59° of pitch, ±12.04° of roll and ±75 mm of heave. Braking presses you into the belts, a kerb throws the rig, a long corner leans it over — your body gets the same information your eyes do.

  2. 02

Ball screws and a 21-bit encoder

Inside each actuator sit a high torque-density servo motor and a ball screw: up to 150 mm of stroke, up to 300 mm/s of speed and 180 kgf of peak thrust. A 21-bit magnetic encoder reads position — 2,097,152 points — and a 600 MHz processor handles telemetry in real time. The movement therefore matches the picture instead of chasing it.

  3. 03

Big movement and fine vibration at once

On top of the large movements the actuators reproduce vibration across 0–200 Hz. These are two separate layers of feel: the platform leans under braking while also carrying road seams, surface grain, engine vibration and the moment the tyres break away. The 16.7-million-colour RGB lighting can mirror telemetry — ABS activation, wheelspin, flags.

  4. 04

AI Motion for games without telemetry

For supported sims MOZA Motion Manager ships official presets that you can edit and save per car. For games with no telemetry at all there is AI Motion: the system analyses the picture and the audio in real time and generates the movement itself. That mode needs Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit), an NVIDIA RTX 4060 with 8 GB or more, driver 572.60 or newer, and 8 GB of RAM.

  5. 05

Safety: emergency stop and slow descent

An emergency stop is included: pressing it halts the platform instantly and holds it where it is, and once released the platform lowers to the bottom before the system can be restarted. Separate protection covers a sudden power cut — the platform descends smoothly instead of dropping. For the first run MOZA recommends starting with a small range of motion and increasing it gradually.

Compatibility

PC only. It mounts to rigid cockpit rigs built from 4080, 40120 and 40160 European-standard aluminium profile, plus selected branded profile rigs; 40120 and 40160 rigs with a closed central rail need the HMA Profile Adapter Kit. All four actuators must be installed vertically, at the same height, on a level floor, and a separate monitor stand is recommended. Native telemetry is supported in Assetto Corsa and Assetto Corsa Competizione, iRacing, Le Mans Ultimate, Dirt Rally 2.0, EA SPORTS WRC, Automobilista 2, BeamNG.drive, RaceRoom, Forza Motorsport and Forza Horizon 5, Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator, the F1 series and more; AI Motion adds games without telemetry.

Questions

Will the HMA150 fit my cockpit?

The system is designed for rigid rigs built from 4080, 40120 and 40160 European-standard aluminium profile, plus a number of branded profile cockpits. Rigs in 40120 or 40160 with a closed central rail also need the HMA Profile Adapter Kit. The rig must be solid, all four actuators vertical and at the same height, and the floor level. A separate monitor stand is recommended.

How loud is it and how much power does it draw?

In MOZA laboratory testing noise stayed at or below 55 dB at one metre even at maximum speed and acceleration, and at or below 58 dB with the official racing presets. Power is low voltage — 48 V DC from a normal 110–220 V mains — and the four-actuator system is rated at 1,500 W. A 220 V / 50 Hz Uzbek mains is fine.

What about games with no telemetry?

AI Motion covers them: it analyses the picture and the audio in real time and generates motion and haptic effects itself. It needs Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit), an NVIDIA RTX 4060 with 8 GB or more, NVIDIA driver 572.60 or newer and at least 8 GB of RAM. AMD cards and Intel graphics are not supported by this mode yet. The current game list is shown in MOZA Motion Manager.

How do the preorder and delivery of such a heavy set work?

The set is sold on preorder. After you place the order a GEEKSHOP manager contacts you, confirms it and arranges delivery separately: one actuator weighs 6.8 kg and the set contains four, plus the control box and hardware. The indicative lead time is about a month from confirmation.
