The wheel stops being a toy and starts being a wheel
The MOZA R9 V3 is a compact direct drive base for sim racing. The servo motor drives the wheel shaft directly, with no belts or gears, so force reaches your hands without backlash or delay: 9 Nm of peak torque lets you feel the front axle washing out, the weight shifting under braking and the texture of the surface. A steering wheel is not included — you pick one separately and mount it on the MOZA quick release. Inside is a 21-bit magnetic encoder: 2,097,152 steps per revolution and 0.00017° of angular resolution, driven by a 280 MHz processor. The NexGen 4.0 algorithm shapes the feel — sharper curbs, faster reaction to weight transfer and tyre slip, and cogging torque compensation; an iRacing 360 Hz mode is available in MOZA Pit House. The servo motor uses an 18-slot / 16-pole layout, the housing is aviation-grade aluminium, and the conductive slip ring is rated for over 5 million revolutions. Peak power is 180 W and USB polling runs at 1000 Hz. The platform is PC. The base bolts down through four holes in the bottom plate; a table clamp and a side mount are sold separately. Dedicated ports for pedals, a dash, a shifter, a handbrake and an emergency stop keep that gear off your computer's USB ports. Settings and game profiles live in MOZA Pit House on PC and in the mobile app, and firmware updates online. The base measures 240 × 157 × 124 mm.

9 Nm with no belts or gears
Belt and gear wheels put a transmission between the motor and the rim, and some of the road detail gets lost on the way. In the R9 V3 the wheel shaft sits straight on the servo rotor, so the 9 Nm peak arrives at your hands at once. At this torque level the difference between the front and the rear letting go is obvious, and the wheel self-centres out of a corner with no dead spot in the middle.

21-bit: 2,097,152 steps per revolution
The magnetic encoder splits one revolution into 2,097,152 steps — 0.00017° of angular resolution. Together with the 280 MHz processor it lets the base render small changes in force: the grain of the asphalt, the moment the tyres start to slide, the buzz of a curb. Higher resolution means fewer steps in the feedback and an earlier warning that grip is going away.

An 18/16 servo motor and NexGen 4.0
The motor uses an 18-slot, 16-pole layout, a combination that cuts torque ripple, so the wheel turns smoothly with no notchiness at low speed. NexGen 4.0 adds cogging torque compensation, breaks the feedback signal into separately tunable elements and smooths abrupt torque spikes. For iRacing, Pit House enables a 360 Hz mode.

Its own ports instead of a USB hub
The back panel carries separate sockets for pedals, a dash, a shifter, a handbrake and an e-stop, plus USB and the power input. Peripherals plug into the base rather than the PC, so one USB cable leaves the desk and there is less to drop out mid-race. The industrial-grade slip ring lets the wheel spin endlessly without twisting a cable.

Where it goes: desk, stand or rig
At 240 × 157 × 124 mm the base is compact enough to live on a desk. Four holes in the bottom plate take a standard rig or stand mount, and a table clamp and a side mount are offered separately. At 9 Nm the desk itself has to be stiff: on a thin or folding table the wheel will move with the tabletop.
Compatibility
PC (Windows); MOZA does not state console support for this base. The compatibility list includes Assetto Corsa and Assetto Corsa Competizione, iRacing, the F1 series, Forza Horizon, DiRT Rally and DiRT Rally 2.0, Automobilista 2, RaceRoom, rFactor 2, Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator. MOZA wheels attach through the MOZA Quick Release; pedals, a dash, a shifter, a handbrake and an e-stop plug into the base's own ports.

Questions
Does it come with a steering wheel?
No. The R9 V3 is a base; the wheel is chosen separately and mounts on the MOZA Quick Release that all MOZA rims share. The box holds the base, power supply, USB cable, toolkit and documents.
Does it work with Xbox or PlayStation?
MOZA's official spec sheet for the R9 V3 lists one platform: PC. Console support is not stated by the manufacturer, so we do not promise it. If you need a console setup, message the GEEKSHOP manager and we will suggest a configuration.
Do I need a rig, or is a desk enough?
A desk is fine if the top is rigid: the base is compact (240 × 157 × 124 mm) and bolts down through four holes or sits on a table clamp (sold separately). A rig or stand uses the same four holes, and side mounting is supported too.
How does the preorder work?
You place a request, the GEEKSHOP manager confirms the item and the terms, and the unit then ships with the batch — roughly a month from order confirmation. The manager gives the exact date when confirming.
