01 / How it works

Baro, mode and range under your left hand

The MA3F EFCM L is the left-hand EFIS module that docks onto the MOZA MA3F EFCM main unit and recreates the captain's side of the Airbus A320 navigation display control panel. It carries the QFE/QNH segment readout with its PULL STD knob, the ND mode selector (ROSE LS/VOR/NAV, ARC, PLAN), the range selector from 10 to 320, ADF/VOR switches for receivers 1 and 2, the CSTR, WPT, VOR.D, NDB and ARPT keys and the LS and FD buttons. The body is ABS and polycarbonate, measuring 155 × 89.5 × 81 mm and weighing 305 g. Character and button-indicator lighting is configured in MOZA Cockpit together with the rest of the panel and can follow the lighting inside the simulator. The module links to the main unit with an RJ11 cable, and the included mounting plate lines it up with the FCU. It is designed to run as part of the MA3F system, so the MA3F EFCM main unit — sold separately — comes first. With both side modules fitted, left and right, MOZA enables expansion mode and the side panels take over extra systems: transponder, weather radar, APU, windshear warning, TCAS and lighting.

  1. 01

The left half of the glareshield

In the A320 the EFIS panels flank the FCU: the left one for the captain, the right one for the first officer. The MA3F EFCM L is the left-hand panel. It is where you set the altimeter, pick the navigation display mode and its range, and switch waypoints, VORs, NDBs and airports on the map — everything a simulator usually hides behind hotkeys.

  2. 02

The altimeter is set by hand

The QFE/QNH segment window shows the set pressure in in Hg or hPa, and the PULL STD knob behaves as it does in the aircraft: pull for standard, push and turn for the local setting. On descent that is one movement instead of hunting for the right window in the simulator.

  3. 03

Lines up with the main unit

The module docks to the left of the MA3F EFCM main unit and links to it with a short RJ11 cable — no extra USB port needed. The included mounting plate keeps the panel flush with the FCU, so the finished glareshield reads as one piece rather than a row of separate boxes.

  4. 04

    Two modules unlock expansion mode

With both side modules attached to the main unit, MOZA switches on expansion mode. The side panels can then be assigned to systems a real EFIS does not carry: transponder, weather radar, APU, windshear warning, TCAS and lighting — useful when the rig is small and there is nowhere to put dedicated panels.

02 / Details & compatibility

Compatibility

The module works as part of the MOZA MA3F system: it docks onto the MA3F EFCM main unit (sold separately) and connects to it with an RJ11 cable. PC only, configured in MOZA Cockpit. Supported titles are Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024 and X-Plane 11 and 12, covering the default A320 and A330, Fenix A320/A321/A319, ToLiss A320/A321/A319, FlyByWire A32X and iniBuilds A320/A330. Expansion mode for the side panels needs both the left and the right module.

Questions

Can I buy just this module without the main unit?

It is a separate item, but MOZA describes it as an expansion: the module docks onto the MA3F EFCM main unit and connects over RJ11, and MOZA's manual gives no other way to connect it. So it makes sense either together with the main unit or as an addition to one you already have.

How is the left module different from the right one?

The controls are the same; the layout is mirrored. On the left module the QFE/QNH readout sits on the left, on the right module on the right, matching the captain's and first officer's sides of the A320. Size, weight and connection are identical.

Does it need its own power supply?

No. The MA3F system is powered through the main unit: it connects to the PC with a USB Type-C 3.0 cable, and the side modules take power and data over the RJ11 link.

When will the order arrive?

The module is sold on pre-order. Once a GEEKSHOP manager confirms the order, delivery takes roughly a month; the manager gives the exact timing at confirmation.
