01 / How it works

300 mm of carbon and 28 controls under your fingers

The MOZA GS V2P is a 300 mm GT-format rim built for serious sim racing — Assetto Corsa Competizione, iRacing, rFactor 2 and formula titles. It is the upgraded revision of the GS: MOZA shrank the quick release and added a strip of 10 sequential RGB rev LEDs. The rim and face plate are 5 mm forged carbon fibre, the back plate is carbon-fibre-reinforced composite, and the grips are wrapped in perforated microfibre leather. The wheel carries 28+ programmable controls: 10 backlit mechanical buttons, 5 rotary encoders, 2 depressible thumb encoders and 2 universal joysticks. That is enough to change brake bias, traction control and engine maps, and to walk through menus, without taking your hands off the rim. The shift and dual-clutch paddles are 3 mm forged carbon fibre running on non-contact Hall sensors; the dual clutch supports three modes — combined axis, independent axis and button. Button backlighting and the rev strip are configured in MOZA Pit House: 8 colours, LED display modes and shift-light timing. The rim mounts on MOZA's all-aluminium quick release and works with bases that use the wired conductive slip ring: R3, R5, R9 V2 and V3, R12 V2, R16 V2, R21 V2, R21 Ultra and R25 Ultra. It is not compatible with the earlier wireless R9 V1, R16 V1 and R21 V1 bases, so check your base revision before ordering.

  1. 01

Forged carbon where it actually works

The GS V2P rim and face plate are moulded from 5 mm forged carbon fibre, which gives the torsional stiffness a direct-drive base demands: motor force reaches your hands without soggy flex in between. The paddles use the same material at 3 mm, and the back plate is carbon-fibre-reinforced composite. The grips are wrapped in perforated microfibre leather that stays put under a damp palm on a long stint.

  2. 02

28+ inputs, hands stay on the rim

The layout is built around a race, not a spec sheet: 10 backlit mechanical buttons, 5 rotary encoders, 2 depressible thumb encoders and 2 universal joysticks. Brake bias, TC, engine map, radio and the pit menu get assigned once in MOZA Pit House, and after that everything is changed blind. The buttons are mechanical with a clear click, so a press registers even through gloves.

  3. 03

A dual clutch on Hall sensors

The lower pair of paddles acts as a dual clutch and supports three modes: combined axis, independent axis and plain button. In iRacing and F1 that buys you a repeatable launch — one paddle sets the bite point, the other releases the clutch. All four paddles ride on non-contact Hall sensors: no mechanical contact, so no bounce, no worn contact pad, and the same travel hundreds of races later.

  4. 04

A rev strip you catch out of the corner of your eye

Ten high-brightness RGB LEDs sit along the top of the face plate and light up sequentially with engine revs. Eight colours, display modes and shift-light timing are all set in MOZA Pit House per car, so the shift point always lands at the same spot on the strip whatever you are driving. Button backlighting is configured separately: split functions by colour and you find the right button without reading the label.

  5. 05

    Check your base revision first

The GS V2P communicates through a wired conductive slip ring, so it needs a matching base generation: R3, R5, R9 V2 and V3, R12 V2, R16 V2, R21 V2, R21 Ultra or R25 Ultra. The earlier wireless R9 V1, R16 V1 and R21 V1 bases use a different transmission system and will not drive this rim. The quick release itself is all aluminium and was made more compact on the V2P; swapping the wheel on or off takes a couple of seconds and no tools.

Compatibility

The rim fits MOZA bases with the wired conductive slip ring: R3, R5, R9 V2 and R9 V3, R12 V2, R16 V2, R21 V2, R21 Ultra and R25 Ultra. It does not work with the earlier wireless R9 V1, R16 V1 and R21 V1 bases. Mounting is MOZA's all-aluminium quick release. Buttons, colours and rev LEDs are configured in the MOZA Pit House app for PC; console support depends on the base, so check with a GEEKSHOP manager. Suited to Assetto Corsa Competizione, iRacing, F1, rFactor 2 and other sims.

Questions

Which MOZA bases does the GS V2P work with?

Bases with the wired conductive slip ring: R3, R5, R9 V2 and R9 V3, R12 V2, R16 V2, R21 V2, R21 Ultra and R25 Ultra. The earlier wireless R9 V1, R16 V1 and R21 V1 are not supported — they use a different signal system. MOZA does not list third-party bases for this rim.

How does the V2P differ from the earlier GS?

MOZA lists two changes: a smaller quick release and a strip of 10 sequential RGB rev LEDs with adjustable colours. The core design — 300 mm, forged carbon, 28+ inputs and a Hall-sensor dual clutch — carries over.

Which games is this rim suited to?

GT disciplines and formula series that need precise input and plenty of controls: Assetto Corsa Competizione, iRacing, the F1 series and rFactor 2. The 300 mm diameter matches real GT wheels, and the dual clutch covers launches in iRacing and F1.

How does the pre-order work and when does it arrive?

The wheel is sold on pre-order. After you place a request a GEEKSHOP manager contacts you and confirms the order; the indicative lead time is about a month from confirmation. The manager gives the exact date when confirming.
